“Low cost SEO. Now you’re talking!”

It blows my mind when I see what some SEO optimization services are charging.

Since you’ve arrived here as a result of doing an internet search for an affordable SEO service, their prices probably blew YOU away too. Am I right?

Before we get into how I can offer such low cost SEO services when others charge so much (maybe I just need to be hungrier?), let me tell you a little about the 3 factors I take into account:

1. Your keywords.

Search terms with several words in them (which these days are called “long tail keywords”) are usually easier to rank for.

So we typically wont take on a search term that is one single word. They’re usually too competitive. So if you want to be on page one for “casino” or “iphones” or “investing” or “dating” or hundreds of other very popular keywords, sorry, you’ll have to look elsewhere… and be prepared to pay a whole lot more.

We prefer to concentrate our efforts where we believe we can get results.

So we do our own in-house competition research as a part of our response when you first contact us. We’re assessing whether we can help you or not.

If you’re serving a local market, you can include a geographic term (for example, “Sydney carpet cleaning”). And two things happen. 1, you just made it easier to put your site onto page one. And 2, you also benefit from a more targeted stream of visitors to your site.

Often we find that clients give us an unrealistic list of the keyword phrases they’d like to be on page one for. What they dont know is that the competition for some of those terms is quite fierce and therefore the odds of getting a front page listing for those are quite slim.

So at the very outset, we do some quite detailed keyword research to provide you with ALTERNATIVE keyphrases that have a much BETTER chance of getting onto page one.

The IDEAL keyword phrase is one that is relevant to your market and has low competition but also has a good search volume. That is, a sufficient number of people are searching in Google for that term every month.

We access Google’s monthly search volume figures and supply them back to you during our keyword discussions.

Quite often we turn up some unexpected results. Such as the difference in search volume between 2 almost identical search terms like “SEO optimization service” and “SEO optimization services”. The difference in meaning between service singular and services plural is quite insignificant but it does make a difference in monthly search volume. Compare 33,000 and 40,000 respectively.

And it can make a bigger difference in what we call do-ability. That is, can we do this? Can we get your site onto page one for that term?

After you send us your search terms, we’ll do our keyword competition research (and we’ll probably add some terms you may not have thought about) and then we’ll get back to you with our rating.

Our RATING SCALE is…

A = easy to get you onto page one,
B = possible to get on page one,
0 = we cannot get you onto page one.

So you’ll see from that rating scale that there are some keywords that we simply will not touch. If we dont think that we can get onto page one for a particular term, we dont waste our resources trying.

We focus on keywords where we feel confident we can have a win.

So back to these two terms we were comparing (service .v. services). One gets a zero (no can do!) and one gets an A.

2. Your website.

How much work will it take to fix the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) errors that your site has?

Experience has shown me that many attractive and functional websites have not been put together with SEO in mind. Even some of the most basic elements are often missing.

I provide quite detailed advice on what you need to fix because the more we give Google what Google wants (including a technically well done website), the more likely it is that Google will give us what we want … which is a page one listing. So I like to take a look at these “on page” SEO factors early.

3. The market you’re in.

Your market may have many SEO-savvy websites competing for the top listings. Or there may only be a few real competitors. And some markets we have to contend with a formidable group of high page rank “authority sites” with oodles of backlinks. Many markets don’t.

The stronger the competition is, the more SEO-savvy the competition is, the bigger our task and my price will reflect that.

What that means is that in some markets, low cost SEO just isn’t an option, sorry. If you want to position yourself on page one in those brutal markets, you’re going to have to pay thousands of dollars per month — but not to me because I don’t compete in that league. At least, not yet.

Low cost SEO?

By way of comparison to my low cost SEO service, here is what others are charging… up to $2500 per month. OUCH!

UPDATE: When I set up this web page in the first place, this was where I published my fees and my payment plan. It was 50% upfront, and the rest when we delivered page one results. That worked okay, but then we came up with the WINNER we have been offering for the last year or more.

Our SEO optimization service is now… FREE TILL WE GET YOU ON PAGE ONE.

That’s right, NO UPFRONT PAYMENT.

You only pay us AFTER you see your site on page one of Google. Our monthly maintenance program is recommended once we place you on page one.

Ongoing promotion is important for 3 reasons:

1, to protect your page one listing from others who would want to knock you off page one, just as I propose to push another site off page one to get you there.

2, to get your other search term/s onto page one.

3, to improve your listing position on page one, if possible.

“Low cost SEO, Gary, how do you do it?”

It’s simple. I work for myself at home… which means that you as a customer will not have to carry your share of the high overhead costs typically associated with corporate business.

  • Advertising costs? — Nil. I do it myself using my SEO skills.
  • Staff costs are low because if/when there is work I dont do, I hire in the Philippines where the cost of living is so much lower and you can get good quality staff for much less than in the Western world.
  • Office premises? Nil. I work at home.
  • I only take on clients whose keywords I can handle so we don’t attempt the impossible, nor do we have to build in a margin for extreme cases.
  • Software tools do some of the work for me.
  • Lower level of profit taking. While I like disposable income as much as the next guy, I’ve been in service minded work for years because of the satisfaction it delivers. That’s why I’m providing a low cost SEO service that delivers the goods.
